300 fair price shops in Punjab from 27th


MULTAN: Some 300 fair price shops will start operation from July 27 across Punjab with separate counters for men and women to provide essentials to people at lowprices ahead of Ramazan.

Staff to be deputed at the fair price shops will wear uniform and monitoring cells are being set up to check the performance of field staff, officials of agriculture marketing department said on Friday.Eight directorates were being set up in Punjab including oneeach in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan for effective functioning ofthe monitoring cells.Four fair price shops will be set up in Multan at pointsincluding Baagh Laangay Khan, Madni Park New Multan, Punjab SilkMills Mumtazabad and Shamasabad.
