PPP wins 6 more Kashmir seats


Ruling PPP can now form Kashmir government without the help of any political party.

Paksiatn People’s party has won six out of eight special seats of Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly. PPP have won on 3 women, one technocrat, one overseas Kashmiris, and one Ulema seats.

On women seats Shaheen Kausar, Shazia Akbar and Sadaf Sheikh have won on PPP tickets.

Wajid-ur-Rehman won on the overseas Kashmiris seat while Sardar Abid has won on technocrat’s seat.

Pir Atiqur Rehman has won on Ulema and Mashaikh’s seat. Joint candidate of MQM, Muslim Conference and PPP Mehrunisa has also won. After the election results PPP has emerged a majority party and can form the Kashmir government without any help from any other party.

Earlier, PPP was leading with 21 seats and PML-N was trailing with wins in nine constituencies while Muslim Conference had got four seats. Two independent candidates had also won elections while elections on four seats were postponed.
