ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Finance has blocked the Higher Education Commission (HEC) funds after which the chairman wrote to the university vice chancellors about the non-availability of resources for salaries for the next three months.
Talking to news men, Chairman HEC Javed Laghari said an installment of Rs 7.7 billion was to be transferred to the HEC for different purposes during April to June but owing to its devolution issue ministry of finance has halted the funds.
He further said that Rs7.7 billion were allocated for staff and daily expenses of 71 public universities of the country for the fiscal year 2010-2011.
