Hamid Saeed Kazmi’s remand extended to another 5 days

The Federal Investigation Agency had arrested Kazmi on March 15 after a court refused to grant him a pre-arrest bail in a case relating to his alleged corruption in arranging residential accommodation for Pakistani Haj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia last year.
Two months ago Kazmi had pleaded for a “bail before arrest” in the court and was granted.
He had filed an application for extension of his bail in the court but the Special Court Judge Sohail Nasir rejected the bail application. After the appeal was dismissed the FIA took Kazmi into custody.
The FIA had issued an arrest warrant against Kazmi on charges of involvement in Haj corruption case.
Amongst the charges leveled against Kazmi was transfer of extraordinary amounts in his account.
