Defence Committee to take up Mehran Base attack: PM

KARACHI Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on  Tuesday that the Defence Committee of the Cabinet, which will meet on May 25,will also deliberate upon the terrorist attack at the Pakistan Navy Base Mehran.Talking to mediapersons on his arrival here, the Prime Minister said that he would offer his comments in detail on the incident after the Cabinet’s Defence Committee meeting.Earlier, he was briefed on the terrorist attack at the PN Base Mehran.The Prime Minister said that the incident was a point to ponder for the entire nation.He said that he vehemently condemned the very incident and paid rich  tribute to the personnel of law enforcement agencies who embraced martyrdom in defending the national assets.

Yusuf Raza Gilani particularly praised the valour and gallantry of Lt.Yasir and other personnel of the law enforcement agencies in countering theterrorists’ attack.
“We are proud of our these brave men”, he further pointed out. Interior Minister, Rehman Malik, Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad  Khan, Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, and Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Noman Bashir, were also present on the occasion.
