President receives condolences


ISLAMABAD President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday receivedcondolences on the demise of his father Hakim Ali Zardari, from people of all walks of life here at the President House.The President decided to accept the condolences in view of the large number of requests from the people wishing to personally express their sorrow and grief with him.Late Hakim Ali Zardari breathed his last on May 24 after a protracted
illness and was buried at his ancestral graveyard in Nawabshah.The President received condolences from the people in groups, starting with a meeting with the staff of President’s Secretariat that was followed by condolences from foreign diplomats, Services Chiefs, federal ministers,parliamentarians, political figures, journalists, writers and intellectuals,government officials and leaders and workers of the Pakistan People’s Party.
Leaders and workers from across the political spectrum came to condole with the President.Quran Khawani was also held for the eternal peace of the departed soul and collective prayers were offered.
President Zardari thanked all those who came all the way for condolences and offered Fateha for the departed soul.
“The outpouring of sympathy and affection of the people in this hour of personal grief is a source of strength for me,” he said.
