LAHORE: The ties between Jamaat-e-Islami and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) seem to coming back on terms as JI’s Secretary General Liaquat Baloch Tuesday called on Chief Minister Punjab Mian Mohammed Shahbaz Sharif here, Geo News reported.
Following the meeting, Liaquat Baloch said that Shahbaz Shairf assured the former of withdrawal of cases registered against JI’s activists during Pervaiz Musharrraf era.
The meeting between two key political leaders lasted for over an hour. Later, talking to Geo News correspondent Irfan Nazir, Liaquat said that matters pertaining to board of governors in educational institutions and lawsuits lodged against his party’s activists during tenure of Musharraf came under discussion.
“Upon this, CM Punjab assured him of suspension of cases against his party activists,” Baloch revealed, adding that PML-N is of the view that N-League played no role in release of US’s CIA contractor Raymond Davis.
Coming to the conclusion of meeting, Shahbaz Shaif gave several explanations on Raymond Davis’s release.
