Creation of new provinces to case price spiral in country: Survey

ISLAMABAD : According to a survey the creation of new provinces in Pakistan would result in further price hike and expanses on the national kitty.
A NGO MEMRB conducted a survey in all the provinces of the country and only 17% people voted in favour of making new provinces.20 percent people were of the view that the existing number of provinces is enough; meanwhile 17% were of the opined that the existing provinces should be run properly.
Nine percent people clearly said that there is no need of making new provinces in the country; meanwhile 4% people were of the opine that the existing provinces are not being run properly; meanwhile 6% said that the creation of new provinces would be dangerous for the country.83 percent Pakistanis have voted against the creation of new provinces in the country; meanwhile only 17% voted in favour of the creation of new provinces.According to the MEMRB the people who participated in the survey were aged 15 and above and were included men and women.3500 interviews were conducted in February and March 2500 interviews were conducted in cities 10,000 interviews were conducted in 60 villages.
The questions were asked in Urdu language; meanwhile 81% people living in cities voted against the creation of new provinces.Only 19% people living in cities voted in favour of making new provinces; meanwhile 85% residents of Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad are against the creation of new provinces and only 15% favoured the creation of new provinces.According to the survey 21% people of Balochistan, 28% people of Khayber Pakhtoonkhawa, 18% people of Sindh, 4% people of Punjab have voted in favor of making new provinces in the country.Likewise 15% women and 20% men are in favour of making new provinces; meanwhile the people who participated in the survey includes post graduates, graduates, intermediate, matric, middle and illiterate.82% people above age of 55 voted against the creation of new provinces in the country.
