Afghan Parliamentarians 22-member delegation calls on President

ISLAMABAD, Mar 30 : A 22-member Afghan delegation comprising of Afghan Parliamentarians called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr Tuesday night. The delegation, led by Sayed Ishaq Gailani included among others Abdul Satar Khawasi, Gul Badshah Majeedi, Sayed M. Jamal Fakory Beheshti, Ms. Helay Ershad, Ms. Rangina Kargar, Ms. Torpikai, Ahmed Farhad Majeedi, Enginner Abdul Ghafar,Haji Abdul Khaleq Bala Karzai, Noor Rahman Izedyar, Senator Maolawy Arsalan Rahmani, Senator Shah Naz Ghowsi, Senator Mawlawi Abdul Wali Raji, Senator Mauluwee Mohammad Faizi, Senator Hedayatullah Rehaie, Senator Dar Khail Mangul, Senator Sali Mohammad Pahlawan, Senator Rafiullah Haidari and Abdul Qadir Tagain.

Pak-Afghan bilateral relations and the current regional situation were discussed during the meeting.
The President said that Pakistan stands for peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan, which he said was in its own interest as any development in Afghanistan had its impact on Pakistan.
He reiterated Pakistan’s principled stand to support every effort to bring in peace and stability in Afghanistan. He said that Pakistan desires an Afghan-led solution to the current situation in Afghanistan.
The members of the delegation thanked the President for meeting them.
